Re: Javascript text encryption

Evenin' folks. Long time no see and all that. This caught my eye. Proper hashing functions make use of multiplying prime numbers together in a way that is isn't feasible to work out the original constituent numbers. This usage of prime numbers also makes finding collisions (two passwords that genera...

So, right, what this does, right, is record you webcam and transform it into a gif. Unsurprisingly it's a bit ace.

Re: Drupal

I could change format/layout on a page easily with an editor or even fucking notepad, but I'm afraid Drupal would get snotty, give me a sexually transmitted disease and take the site off-line, which would be an unmitigated disaster. You should have a local dev environment where you can cock about t...

Re: Drupal

Briefly used it in anger at a prior gig before I left. Drupal is pervasive and probably your best bet if you company needs something big and flexible but doesn't have the money to build something bespoke from scratch (which is often a just as terrible idea). Lots of big names use it including NBC an...

Re: More stupid wordpress

It doesn't fit because there isn't enough space for everything to fit into a single line, you don't change the width of the whole item because that's meerly based on the sizes of the elements it contains. Easiest way of solving this is to reduce the padding between each menu item to make the total w...

Yay, my (along with Matius' and Vaughany's) hometown is in the news.

Oh wait, that's not something to be proud of

My favourite comment:
I stopped at "Tamworth in Staffordshire, a pleasant former market town"

You need to visit that place and get your facts straight.

Re: Last game to blow you away

Probably Hotline Miami - it's only a top-down shooter controlled with mouse and keys but it's a million times more suspenseful and exhilerating than your average military shooter that sees you take an infinite number of bullets if you just hide in a corner when the red blotches on the camera appear...

Re: Discourse - An alternative to forums

*Devils advocate mode firmly on* It looks like a clusterfuck atm as that is a demo site that gets nuked every day for people to cock about in and fiddle with the platform rather than have a proper dialog. It's easy to look mental an uninviting when it's literally full of people going "herp derp...

Discourse - An alternative to forums

Well-known in techy circles dude Jeff Atwood (the guy behind Stack Overflow) has turned his eye to the humble conversation and the idea of community building and forum software. He's gave it a kick up the bum to make it all shiny and web two point oh, so along with all the boring features like unrea...

Re: Purchases

Oh yes it is shiny. Slight bit of buyers remorse going on though as I bought the 8GB one thinking "I've got an 8GB SD card now, I don't need more than that" not bothering to think about the space that the OS / core apps take up. Total usable space left for the user is about 5.5GB which is ...

Dumb question time: Why? Do you really need to SSH into your Rpi from outside your network? If you're only going to be connecting to it from within your network you don't need the port forwarding.
