Re: Apple stuff

I am shocked. On the NFC front I am really shocked. Even some budget devices are starting to ship with NFC and even if you disregard contact-less payments NFC has some great uses (as RB pointed out, the NFC tags are cool but also useful) and Android Beam shows you how you can really show off with N...

Re: Apple stuff

The cheapest way really is going to be sim-only upgrading. I can't imagine how it could work out any cheaper because they'd be running it at a loss. Is that an option?

Re: Apple stuff

Haha you're damn right :P Although maybe the rush for nano-sims might have died down by the time I get mine so I won't get told by my local Voda shop they've not got any. Just checked out the tariffs on Vodafone for the iPhone5. No deals to be had. I'm glad I upgraded sim-only at £15p/m and bought u...

Re: Apple stuff

I ordered mine at exactly the same time using the same app, how freaky! Anyway it has October for both the phone and adapter, so I just think in that same minute there were several hundred thousand people all doing the same thing. You got in first by seconds presumably.

Re: Apple stuff

It's just saying "October" in my email for delivery, so hell knows when I'll get mine.

Re: Apple stuff

I didn't even look what was in the box. I bought it stupidly early on the app store on my phone and bought an extra adapter so it'll work in the car. £559 in total. If I keep it for 3 years like I have the 3GS, it works out as £15p/m for something I use every day. Can't fault that!

Re: Apple stuff

It costs £530, but I'll also need a new case and probably a Lightning to 30-pin adapter, so the total cost is nearer to £600. Plus I'll have to faff around getting a new nano SIM. Thinking I could get the 4S instead, save £150, and have something that's compatible with all my existing kit. Not buyi...

Re: Apple stuff

I've done a LOT of reading the last morning and evening. It's not the best phone and I could do better getting a Samsung. But I'd forever look at it wishing it was an iPhone. There's no real tangible rationale behind that other than I have an iMac and MBP and I want my logos to match. My 3GS is a ti...

ARNIE

This needed a whole new topic starting: ARNOLD SCHWARENEGGER is back to killing people, beginning with The Last Stand. Some others coming out soon with him in as well, but right now, let's masturbate over Arnie shooting a shotgun.

Re: The Olympics

Yeah I agree with the above too about that guy being cynical. So what if it wasn't as massively stage managed as the opening. It was still a cracking show and proof of what Britain has given to the entire world. Universal global appeal and recognition of our culture is something no other nations hav...

Re: The Olympics

I might be biased being British and all that, but NOBODY could put on a show like that. Everything that's good about this country was in this last two weeks, and even though the closing ceremony had it's bad point it was still a hell of show. George Michael shouldn't have been allowed to sing a new ...

Re: The Olympics

We're the envy of the whole frickin PLANET with the Olympics, not only cos of our sporting achievements but we're putting on a hell of show. I'm loving watching it. It's going to be depressing when it ends.
Also, BMXing isn't shit, it's THE SHIT, love it and totally should be in there.

Re: Tech Gaydar

Actually it's a bit sad, because lets be honest, if it wasn't for forums some of us would never have met in real life or otherwise. I don't know whether they are in decline as a medium with sites preferring the Comment route, but you can't form any sort of connection with other uses in a comment sec...
