I use Google Chrome all the time now, so have gotten used to ads again. Bring 'em on.

One of the admins on our clan forum signed us up for google AdSense and at it's peak we were making over $100 a month to help with server costs etc. He did have to cajole us into clicking the adds though. :)

TBH clickfraud is bad both for advertisers and hosts, which is why I'm looking at a 'per day' type thing. I think that I'll run them in parallel for a month, to see which is most successful and stick with that.

There doesn't seem to be any widespread opposition to this, so I'm going to trial a couple of different adverts for the next few weeks to see where we end up. The positioning may change slightly as well, but it'll be kept below the main content in the page.

Only if you don't break the forum for me and FF again ;) ;) ;)

I'll try my best

I'm currently using my immense power in the phpBB community to demand an investigation into the failure of it's software (I'm actually quietly wondering if there is a problem).

Looks like it's more a CoolIris thing than anything else, and as sad as I am to be losing the only really great add-on I've got on FF, I'd rather be without that than this place.

Try reinstalling the plugin. It's possible that it has cached some bad data somewhere, that doing so would resolve.

Adverts are fine. Makes sense if it costs money it should pay for itself.

I do see them a lot so will use if interesting.
However, they are above the Return to Forum link and I've accidently clicked on the same one twice.

I don't see adverts, I think ABP has destroyed them but the who's online bar seems to have moved up which is irritating.
A slight majority of a statistically worthless sample size agree.

The adverts are now in a separate layout area so they're better integrated with the rest of the site for those who haven't blocked. No idea if you can do it (I don't use an adblocker), but you could try to find a way to block that whole div/table (depending on the template you're using).

How strange. I just saw one. Only one. I clicked on it, but then when I went to other TOP pages, it wasn't there again.

Still, done my bit for this week ;)
