Domain Name

Postby Dan » Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:50 pm

The options:

otherplaceforum.x (could be .com, .net, .co.uk - whatever basically)
top-forum.com.x (no top level domains left, so would have to be .co.uk, .org.uk etc)
Sir! Objection! (RON, or you don't think we should be 'just a forum')

I demand that you all choose the same as Blak, as I did.

.co.uk isn't very international-friendly and hyphens in URLs lose.

Much true.

Maybe Dan would like to add http://www.otherplaceforum.co.uk to the options then, for all the Anglophiles?

I voted .co.uk, but both are equally as good.

I voted for .com as I prefer The Other Place to just TOP.

The problem with that is that it nukes all the existing votes - personally, the extra few pounds for the .com is worth it for the more international reach we would gain with it. The majority of the forum is English, but that isn't our sole target audience.

.com is easier to remember than .co.uk.
