Yes, on the basis that it is only writable by mods, but viewable by all. (And something needs doing with those forums the admin log claims I created on Monday night).

An invisible mod-only forum is what we have on PCFF. Its never used for discussion other than mod related. Its used as sort of a recycle bin/holding pen for threads and splits in case we refer the admins or undo-ability is needed.

Works well. But probably not needed here yet.

Is there anyone but you, Glam and very very sparse appearances form the insufferable LameSpacker and Plod?

Whilst I do see the point of total transparency, I think Joe's point is being missed somewhat. As I see it, the special mod forum would be a place where we can edit stuff as needed so that the rest of the forum doesn't have to see anything unnecessary. Whilst I don't think there's anything that I've ever modded that could be conceived as so utterly offensive that no-one would want to view it, the lack of a NSFW tag on a dodgy picture would need the post to be edited pretty quick and if detailed modding was needed (Christ knows what that would be, but bear with me), you run the risk of clicking on a picture at work that gets you in trouble. IYSWIM.

However, if the only way to get one is to go viewable, then I'm 100% in agreement with it.

Hey, if you want a top secret mod area but don't want a schism then don't worry, I'll keep you lot honest.

tbh this thread seems to make the assumption we mind if your moderations don't always go off without a hitch.

I personally don't mind, everyone makes mistakes. What's a badly split thread to me? Not exactly gonna lose sleep over it. It would cause more disruption if a thread suddenly disappeared then reappeared 5 minutes later.

/just my 2 cents etc
It might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm really quite busy.

In theory, it won't make any difference if its viewable or not, as I've understood it anyway.

The way I've interpreted this is as temporary storage for editing threads.

So really, once they're edited and moved back (or in extreme cases, deleted) the super-secret forum would then be empty again.

So basically if the forum is going to be empty 99.9999% of the time, it may as well be made visible to everyone, if only to prevent the impression that there is super-secret stuff going on in the background.
