Built a PC for a friend which was pretty good
a few days later he cals me to say PC has died - he was paying a game and the display died
When I examined it - the fans spun but no power through the USB ports and no display
Spec is Gigabyte GA970A DS3P, with an AMD Vishera Core FX8350 with that Be Quiet Pure Rock cooler, 16GB RAM and an EVGA nVidia GTX960 2GB, 120GB SSD
Motherboard replaced....
Fans spin, power through the USB ports but again no display no matter if i use his GFX card or a spare I had (no onboard gfx)
ideally I'd need to test the GFX card in another rig but I'm suspecting that when the PC motherboard died the first time it might have taken the CPU with it.
Is that likely that the CPU failed with the motherboard?
enough to drive someone to smoke, but i'll stick to drink!!
