Yeah, it was preachy shite like the remake of the day the earth stood still.

I just watched Arrival. I think I may have seen a different version to what everybody else who's seen it has watched though as they're all talking about what the aliens tell the people in the film, but in the version I watched, they just wrote messages with their strange circular language that weren't translated for people watching the film. There was only the human side of the conversation and no request for help or whatever it was they were supposed to have done!

Edit: Just looked up the screenplay for it. my copy doesn't have any subtitles, which was where all the alien stuff was :(

What... you didn't just learn the alien language when Lois Lane and Hawkeye did?

For shame. ;)

So they're super advanced aliens who can travel the stars and figure shit out through time, but they're too stupid to learn our basic language?

Fuck 'em. Should've nuked them from the off.

Possibly the most underrated show ever.

Yes, the theme tune is great as well. One of those that I listen to every time. See these long hard times to come.

Seen it all, recommended it to a few people

Justified is one of the best TV's shows, for me it's up there with things like Breaking Bad, Mad Men etc..

No no no. If your decision to watch it depends on how long it is and the presence of a red car then please just stay at home.

Watch it because it's fast, original, sharp and funny. Watch it because the soundtrack is awesome, the cast are tight and the pace never drops. Watch it because Edgar Wright is a fuckin genius and he's made the best movie of the summer.

Actually I do remember seeing Wright's name at the end now and thinking that maybe it wasn't going to be as bad as the trailer made it look. The lead boy looks a bit gimpy and emo though, I hope he perks up through the film. Might go and see it on Sunday then, and if it's rubbish I'm coming after you ;)

I thought the trailer looked a bit "meh". But everyone seems to be raving about it. Plus, you know... Edgar Wright. I'd try anything he's doing at the moment.

I'll try and catch it this weekend.

I got a cineworld unlimited card. £17.40 a month (friend referral get a free month).

Anyway due to that I've seen a few films this last few weeks;-

Snatched ⭐
Pirates ⭐⭐
Baywatch ⭐⭐⭐
The Mummy ⭐
My cousin Rachel - I still don't even know what that film was about? Utter shit. I kept drifted out then be like whats going on here then start zoning out. I'm not even sure what I was thinking about either.
Gifted ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The boss Baby ⭐⭐⭐
Churchill ⭐
Baby Driver ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hampstead ⭐⭐
The Book Of Henry ⭐⭐
Transformers ⭐

When I look at it like that, it's not really that great a value! Although 12 films for £17.40 in 3 weeks is pretty good going. Give you something else to do during the week rather than sit on your arse watching TV :P

Anyway, of all those films if I was stuck on a long haul flight with the choice of those films the only ones I'd watch again would be Gifted and Baby Driver.
