I've not seen a PCF in stores for a while now, I think my last magazine buy was some time in the middle of 2011. I still have a load of the old mags cluttering up my bedroom. I really need to clear them all out. I even still have my old Sega Power and Mega magazines! One day my nostalgia bone will break and I'll dump them all :)

Don't you dare! I'll come get them if you ever do decide to get rid!

It's finally happened. PC Format's final issue is the November one!

I'll miss Luis' condescending replies to his letters. That's it though.

I haven't read it since before the great bannening.

I might start reading it again now.

What was The Great Bannering precious?
I kind of remember Jez getting banned... I think he called himself a cunt or something. :?
Who else got banned? Did they ban that lesbianoid-fixated plumber guy?
He was probably a cunt as well.

I can't even remember now it was ages ago. David Way had something to do with it I'm sure ¬_¬

Are they losing their jobs or just getting shuffled off to other magazines?

It's gotta suck for the magazine staff either way.

PS: Do people even read magazines any more?
The only one I tend to read is New Scientist, but that's only rarely.

It was pretty much the top ten posters. Ekona, Jez, me, Joe (I think) and some others.
I can't even remember what the ban was for but it gave birth to this place.

Well it was obviously because you were all cunts... and you wouldn't follow the Way.
I just went off to prison Scotland for a couple of years and when I got back you'd all fucked off. :(

Wow, didn't see that one coming, I must admit. I kinda assumed it was bulletproof as it was still going despite no one reading magazines any more, much less PC ones. Doesn't sound very happy either, that editorial reads with a lot of scorn.

Still, it deserves to die. It had everything, and for a time was the best PC mag for miles, and they should never have let it get so fucked up. We were the life of that community, and the fact we're still here says a lot, it was never the same especially when it went all Technonsense or whatever. They had some great writers, and they fucked them all off with shit design. Nope, no tears shall be shed here.

I missed the days of buying it just for the mountains of Quake3 mods and maps that you would get on the DVD.

I have been reading it since I got my Readly subscription (think Spotify for magazines). Can't buy it anywhere in Liverpool, I always look out for it in any shop I go to that sells magazines and no one stocks it.

I can't blame the editor for writing with slight vitriol in his intro as you can really tell the plug was pulled mid-way through the issue. Most of the articles are straight from Maximum PC magazine, they didn't even change the design or format to make them fit into the PC Format mag, literally just lifted the pages and changed all Maximum PC references to PC Format.

I'll miss it as its probably the magazine I bought the most issues of over the years. Shadow of the magazine it was though. I'd never have read it recently if it wasn't 'free'!

I have one lying around from around 2000/2001 and the front of it is all like "OMG 1000MHZ"

How times have changed.
