I've still got a signed copy that Bonzrat gave us for the first ever PCFF Meet :D

That's a shame. Sort of.

I stopped reading it years ago - it didn't contain much that wasn't available online, and the last bit of allegiance I had was lost when they trashed the forums. Still sad to see it go. Enjoyed reading it (on subscription none the less) for a long time, and spent an even longer time arseing about on the forums. Oh well.

This thread made me nostalgic for old magazines. Then I found this: http://www.oldgamemags.com/consoles/nin ... -magazine/

Sad to see it finally end. I'm impressed it kept going for so long, especially after the digital side got absorbed into tech.co.uk. Maybe I'll go pick up the final copy just for nostalgia's sake.

Also I'm not sure I was ever banned from the old forums. Things went to shit during the "upgrade" and everyone lost a lot of posts, while Cueball and Bonzrat seemed to get a bit more heavy-handed with enforcing the rulebook. At that point there wasn't a lot of point staying when we'd spawned this place, so (I think) I locked my account and left.

I think I locked my account too, the only place I've ever done it.

Yep. Hope someone does it for PCF now it's officially dead.

I'm working my way through the Edge mags. I bought pretty much all of them for the first couple of years, it's so funny to look back now at the predictions and how they viewed the first batch of polygon capable consoles!

There are 5 issues of PCF there, including the first 2.
A shiver went up my spine looking at those old CRT monitors...

I owned one of those. 25MHz 80286 processor, 1MB RAM, 40MB hard drive, DOS 3. It was sexy.

I set up the first PC for exhibition to business for IBM here in '83.
It was the sexiest thing on the planet. Took me ages to get it into the boot of my car.

I was explaining floppy disks to my nephew the other day.
About the joy of being able to carry around 1.38MB worth of files for school.
He looked at me like I was an alien.

Bloody 'ell, I never realised that the first issue of PC Format came out in the same month that I was born.
