Welcome to 2010! :D

Surprising the difference it makes, isn't it?

Oh my yes. Downloaded The Division in less than an hour instead of six to eight.
Sonos's streaming in three rooms and watching 4k Netfix in another while downloading it too.

That is the first 3D print that has actually made me think a 3D printer is cool.

I also did a protocattle...

It's a genetically engineered meat, milk, methane and fertiliser production unit designed for off world colonies. It has a robotic central nervous system to eliminate ethical problems.

Today while fiddling with some files on my PC, I found some clips I'd recorded from Sonic the Hedgehog and Toejam & Earl. I played them in VLC player and it showed icons for them all.
Now I've not created any icons for the clips, nor did I name the clips in a way that VLC should be able to tell what they were, yet the clip of the sonic drowning music followed by him dying has a picture of Sonic struggling to swim in water. The one with him breathing near the end of him drowning is just Sonic running.
Then the Toejam & Earl sounds all have the same Toejam & Earl icon, apart from one. The Hallelujah sound effect's icon is a screenshot of Toejam getting an extra life!!

How does VLC know what icons to use and where did it find them?!?

I just tried a sound effect from the game Thief, and it brought up the Thief cover art!

I am baffled!

It probably has an option to search online for cover art.

VLC automatically finds album art for you, in the settings menu, under interface you can change if you want it to do this or not.

I get that bit, but how did it know what the sound clips were or came from?!? That's like magic! :o
