Are you going to take the money?
Assuming you mean the accident I mentioned in the other thread, I'll settle with her directly if she pays for a replacement (ie. new) bike and helmet, but she's already said she can't afford that.
Instead she wants me to go get several quotes from bike shops for repairs, obviously assuming I have time on my hands to do that (I don't), the money to spend on multiple assessment fees (haha nope) or that the cost of stripping, shipping, CT scanning, alignment checking, repairing, repainting, rebuilding and re-shipping a carbon road bike would be cheaper than just replacing it (unlikely).
I replied that she should contact her insurance company, tell them what happened and have them get in touch with me to arrange their own assessment. Which she won't, because it's her sister's car and I am 98% confident she's not insured to drive it. Anyway, I'm giving her until tomorrow morning to figure it out otherwise I'll take her to court.
