Great fun, but I'm not convinced I'd spend the extra on a PZ as the suspension didn't feel that much better over a regular one, albeit wheels are prettier.
If it were me, I'd find the tidiest but cheapest one I could, and then the first thing I would do is get the engine rebuilt (at somewhere like Apex Rotary for £2200) and the Sohn adaptor installed, prob along with the Corvette plugs if budget allows. Then swap the suspension out for something like the BC Racing ones (more than good enough for the budget), new set of brakes all round (even budget ones will be fine, it's not a heavy car) and go from there.
That way, you have a car that you know is mechanically sound for a long time, plus you're protecting that with the Sohn kit, suspension let's you work that brilliant chassis and the brakes just tidy up the rest of the basics. Looking at maybe £5k there, what's the budget?
