Nexus Prime and Android 4.0

Postby Dan » Sat Oct 15, 2011 5:47 pm

It's almost upgrade time for me, so I'm actually excited rather than sulky about this :D

After the delayed announcement on Tuesday, sources are suggesting that the 19th is the day. So soon.

1.2 or 1.5GHz dual core CPU
1GB RAM
32GB storage
5 or 8 MP camera.

Excite.

I too am wetting myself over this. I love my Nexus S and this can only be better in every way.

Based on past experience, it'll take Brodit months to get a car cradle for it, so I'll hang onto the Nexus S and see how good ICS is on that. I'll probably hang onto some of my Christmas bonus to get the Prime when it's out though, it looks like a thinner, larger-screen, souped-up Nexus S. What's not to like?

Same as most smart phones. 2 days between charges, 3 max.

I see and do these phones charge when you plug em into PCs using the microUSB-USB connection?

If they're anything like every other Android phone ever, yep.

The launch event is. I's looking like the launch itself may not be until November... :/

I like the look of the Motorola Droid Razr except for still being gingerbread.

Boom.

Looks awesome. Maybe a little disappointed by the 1.2GHz CPU, but it's more than twice as fast as my Hero, with a whole extra core and a GB of memory to play with, so I don't expect it'll be sluggish (especially running vanilla Android). Not at all dissapointed by a 5MP camera -- 8 would be the same resolution as my SLR, on a sensor probably 1/8 of the size. I imagine 5MP will give much better quality pictures, and a much more responsive camera app (which for a 'oh shit, look at that' picture which 99% of cameraphone ones are, is exactly what you want).

Not sure if it'll be on T-Mobile though. May be looking at a network swap. Much joy.
