Bringing it over to install in a mate's house this evening with about a 3rd of my movie collection. :D
He has 2 small kiddies so I'm mostly bringing my animated stuff. He's a technodope, but he managed to hook up a PC to his telly.

It's awesome, but wasnt without its troubles. It was fitting quite right on the screen so had to calibrate it and move it in from all sides by a handful of pixels. Then videos were tearing like a mofo, but I got that fixed.

Would like a volume normaliser rather than having to turn on/off the one built into my telly.

Heres a question.

Looking at everything in thumbnail mode - i added my movies folder, and it scrapes the movie data, shows a nice picture of it etc.

Why the fuck wont it do it for my TV shows? I just have to look at the default folder pics.

It should do, but you have to set it up in a particular way. What settings do you have for viewing on the LHS menu bar?

Has it downloaded all the relevant metadata?

It was being a pain in the dick.

Wouldn't pick it up because it was called "The.Wire" etc, sorted it by naming the parent folder properly. For some reason it tried to name my 111GB of porn as some random Scandinavian show, forgot to move it from my folder of TV Shows. I was like "wow what's this show? I dont remember downloading this" only to be greeted with some woman rubbing one out.

Ah, it's the naming procedure.
The parent folder should be "TV Shows" inside that should be a folder called "The Wire".
Inside that a folder called "Series 1" and inside that each file should be called - "The Wire S01E01" etc.
I think you can add the name of the particular episode and the date if you want but it must have the first bit to be able to scrape.
I had to rename ALL my eps of The Twilight Zone - 100+ for them to show artwork etc.
they had been named 001 - 100 and XBMC didn't like it.

It's like that with my Seinfeld - but I'm on the last series so I'll just finish it off through "videos" instead.

Also I found a nice option to force 4:3 stuff to 16:9, fuck you makers of "The Wire".

Get the Yatse app. Holy crap its amazing.

Can select subs / sub language, audio source etc from the app itself without bringing it up on the screen, use it as a remote.

Lots of other crap too - but its mostly done on the app rather than bringing crap up on your screen while watching.
