Virgin Media apparently bought UPC, here in Dublin anyway.
I was with UPC for broadband, TV & landline. Today I got this letter.
At first I thought this must have been written by a mildly retarded individual or maybe a 5 year old,
but on 2nd thoughts it's actually quite clever...
What they're doing is using UPC's customer list to promote their mobile phone.
Using another company's client list to promote your own product might come across as invasive or aggressive,
so - fill it full of bollocks and slip the stinger in at the end. They'll never notice. Brilliant! The magic starts here.Hi PaulI’m writing to share some really exciting news. UPC has now become Virgin Media.
And here’s what this means for you…
All of the things you love…
You’ll still enjoy Ireland’s best broadband, top-notch TV and great value home phone,
just as you always have.
[Yay!!! Everything's going to be ... the same?
]Plus, a whole lot more.
But from now on, we’ll be working hard to bring you even more of the things you love.
You see, at Virgin Media, we’re here to help you be more, do more and have more fun.
[Bollocks. "be more", "do more" - fuck off]Good things are just around the corner.
Of course, becoming a Virgin company means more to us than changing the name above
the door. There’s lots to do and not everything will happen overnight, but we’re working hard
to bring you even more magic. And to start with we are going to shake up the market by
launching Virgin Mobile.
