Postby Dan » Mon Nov 09, 2015 11:45 pm

Hnnnnnnnnng

So pretty. And also powerful. Planning on getting one of these to replace my Nexus 10 and laptop.

Anyone else?

Cripes, they're not a cheap bit of kit are they?!

They are nice though, but I've never used a Surface. They any good?

They do look nice but they have more power than I need in a portable. I sold my Ultrabook. My Nexus 9 and iMac for PS is all I need.

Apparently so. With a keyboard it's a fully functioning laptop (with a proper i5/i7, 8-16GB of RAM, SSD), but if you detatch that you have an (admittedly slightly large) tablet which will run both tablet and desktop software. Apparently the touchscreen is also pretty good for note taking, drawing etc.

But no, no cheap. Especially as that price doesn't even include the keyboard!

Going to buy Jo one of these for Xmas. i5 128GB 4GB version, to run some random school program on and probably iTunes too as her Mac is shot.

Sensible?

Pricey but they are lovely and will do the job.

Loads of laptops and ultrabooks that come with the keyboard included not as an additional purchase but nothing as neat and pretty.

Looking more at an iPad replacement if anything, what would you recommend instead? I'm so far out of what is out there right now :(

If it's a tablet form you want and it needs to run real apps then the surface 4 wins.

I have one of these. A i5 256 8. It is lovely.

You will want a keyboard.

I played about with one in the windows shop.

I honestly thought it was a bit meh, it's trying to do too much and not very good at it.

I'd much rather have an ultrabook/MBP for doing 'office' stuff and potentially playing games and a ipad for my tablet needs.
