Fallout Shelter

Postby Polito45 » Mon Aug 17, 2015 4:18 pm

Warning! This game is seriously addictive.

I reinstalled Bluestacks to play it, even though I really, really hate Bluestacks.
It's like an aggressive tramp who threatens to give you the pox if you don't give him €2.

Anyway, it's a brilliant little game. Very tricksy, just when you think everything is going swimmingly - it all goes to shit.
My first Vault (45) failed. All the inhabitants were left sitting in the dark with no food or water.
And the two dwellers I sent out into the wasteland to scavenge, were eaten... by mice or something. :(
It was a very sad end to a brave little group of completely useless arseholes people.

oh well. :|

Vault 46 however is doing very well! :D
They got off to a great start by going to Vault 45 and eating all the corpses. 8)

Played it yonks ago on iOS :P

I can't seem to give the folks enough power. That annoys me.

To get more power you just have to burn the bodies of the peoples who have starved to death.
... Although you should save a bit for making the Soylent Green with Chips & Peas later on. ;)

For anyone that want's to play this game in a slightly easier/more boring fashion, there is currently a save file over on Reddit which starts you with 1100 lunchboxes and 30 Mr Handy's.

(I shan't link to it on here because I'm not sure on how legal it is, a quick Google pops it right up however)

No! That would completely ruin the game IMO.
Most of the fun is in how finely balanced you have to keep the various components.

Now, having said that, I did rage-quit the game yesterday having decided that there was a game-breaking OP Radroache glitch.
Basically, you have 6 people in a room. There's a Radroache outbreak. The last roache seems to be invulnerable and all 6 people die.
You can revive them, but it costs a lot of caps, which take ages to collect.

This happened to me twice. :(
It took ages to recover.

Then it happened again... AND THEN they spread to the room below.
All 6 people in that room also died because I didn't have any weapons to give them because the only
weapons I had were in the possession of the 6 fucking dead people in the room above.

lol :D

Gloogle has since told me that a lot of people have stopped playing the game because of this glitch.
The thing is... it isn't a glitch. There are 3 levels that you can upgrade your rooms to.
What doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere is that along with upgrading the room - you're also upgrading the enemies.
The Radroaches at level 3 (1500 caps) are OP for the early stages of the game.
Your dwellers won't be strong enough or have the kind of weapons they'd need to defeat them.

To make a short story longer...
I went back into the vault I had made. Revived all the dead people (took ages).
Deleted the level 3 room that was causing all the problems.
And have progressed just fine since then. I don't now upgrade rooms past level 2 (500 caps).

I will go and look at that page tho', just out of curiosity of course.
I'd like to be able to create a save that I could go back to if I do happen to fuck everything up make a mess of things again.
Thx for the info. ;)

Or get Bluestacks and try it on your PC.
If you just want to have fun with it - get the DL with the 1000 Lunchboxes Sean mentioned above. ;)

I know!
Once I've finished sorting out my room I'll be able to have a proper look at my PC, see what the actual problem with it is.
In a way I'm hoping it's the mobo as that was the cheapest part of the machine I put together and also the bit I'd most like to upgrade.
