Meh, I just ran through and did the 'perfect' ending, although I still think it's a bit harsh the game doesn't tell you that's actually possible.

Are any of you still playing No Man's Sky? I've been holding off looking at it due to all the bad press it got after release. Any idea if the latest update has made it worth looking at now?

I played it for ages then Battlefield 1 happened.
A slight majority of a statistically worthless sample size agree.
