Disabling posting to a PHPBB forum

Hi everybody
Following from todays revalation that somebody had spammed my forum with gay porn, I want to disable posting to the forum temporarily until I've fixed the problem, but I still want the content visible (not the porn, that's gone already)
Is there any way I can do that with PHPBB 2 and MySQL?

Ah, I've figured it My top forum was locked, so I just changed all the others to locked using the same parameters in MySQL

General -Board Setting - Disable board

Disabling the board makes it un-viewable though, which gets rid of the whole thing with mine as I've heavily modified the PHPBB forum to make it show my other pages too, plus for some reason the admin pages wont load!
Tis time for a change anyway, I've not done anything with the site in like 3 years or so, so it's high time I made something of it
