I think it depends on the car, and how you view the finance deal.

If you treat it purely as a rental deal as you have no intentions of staying with the car or the manufacturer when the deal is done, then that's fine. If you treat it as a stepping stone to stay in that manufacturer's set of cars, then that's fine too. If you treat it as a sensible financial decision as you want to keep the car, it's usually borderline madness. And I say that as someone who only ever bought cars using PCP.

Tbh, if it's just a car you need to use to get to work then buy something cheap and something reliable. A nice leggy Honda would do the trick. I certainly wouldn't be splashing out serious cash on a PCP just for a way of getting to work!

Ordered a new Ford Kuga ST Line Edition on PCP. I got a decent deal from the dealer and as I'm a member of BASC, I got an additional 25% discount that made it a no brainer.

That's a bargain, they're solid little cars.

Any issues with the 1.5 Ecoboost engine? (Like there are/were with the 1.0 version).

Not according to my mechanic friend who recommended it to me.

Appreciating upcoming classics

Some of these are already going up in value becoming classics like the Jag, MR2, MX5 and E39 BMW 5 Series
My Focus is almost there! :ugeek:

I think the 1L Ecoboost issues were mainly on the Focus - I think the Fiesta was OK with that engine

Not an Ultimate car as such, but SWMBO has just taken delivery of a brand new Dacia Sandero 1.0 SCe Comfort, in white with added rear electric windows, mats front and rear and centre arm rest. (That's what we paid for ... when the vehicle arrived we found it also had a boot sill protector and a boot liner). £9k all in.

It's the ultimate Dacia though

Great spec with the TCe engine too 8)

I'm waiting for my insurers to give me an update before I get anything else done
I think my garage might have lost my locking wheelnut key as i cant find it
Might get 4 normal ones and have the current locking nuts ripped/broken off
